Agromolinillo Company has become one of the main model companies in the berries sector worldwide due to its remarkable progress during last years. Diversification, the bet for sustainability and production excellence have been its main chances. We meet its new International Manager Iván Morón-Pendás.

Last years, firm has significantly increased its blueberry production today summing up over the 60% of its business volume with around 300 hectares, versus the 21% of the strawberry one.

From the entity they are aware of there exists a very important potential of demand for these fruits and they address their efforts to obtain the excellence in their production by participating in research projects which help them to get the best varieties, besides by looking for new formats and betting for sustainable systems of production. In this line and aiming to respond the big European chains’ demands, they count on important quality certification in both fields and housewares and they choose methods of organic control and even organic production which reaches the 40 hectares extension.

Besides, they are involved in the search of new markets. In fact, Agromolinillo is currently exporting a 90% of its production to around ten European countries as well as Middle East, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and recently Canada too.

Among their upcoming objectives, they want to close long-term commercial agreements with their clients as a base to –who knows- a further all-year-long supply through partners of other production areas. •MQZ-Arandanos-vaso
